HP Digital Press Operator-2nd Shift

We are looking for a Digital Press Operator to set up and operate the HP Digital printing press, producing pressure-sensitive labels and related products. This onsite role offers training and the opportunity to learn a skilled trade in the printing industry with unlimited growth potential.

Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality labels to meet job specifications and customer standards.
  • Input data, including time and materials used, into job management software.
  • Read job orders and load jobs into the press with correct primers, tint rollers, stocks, counts, and color strategies.
  • Start the press, verifying correct stock, alignment, color calibrations, and sizing; inspect for imperfections and make adjustments before printing.
  • Adjust color as necessary to ensure accuracy of the finished piece (X-rite/I1 table knowledge a plus).
  • Cut and save a full sample from each printed item for the sample library and ticket.
  • Assist with finishing operations and duties as needed.
  • Communicate job-specific information or changes to the supervisor promptly to minimize production downtime.
  • Report any production or press downtime issues to the supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate inventory usage at all times.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance, including basic technician part changes when needed.
  • Keep work areas clear, organized, and maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and a minimum of two years of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of experience operating an HP digital press in a printing environment, or proof of Level 2 or higher certifications from HP (preferably web press, 4-6 series equipment).
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read and interpret rulers, scales, and other measurement devices.
  • Regularly required to stand and walk while performing duties.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • May participate in vendor-sponsored training programs.

Schedule

2nd Shift – 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM, Monday through Thursday (10 hours per day).
