Housing Support Officer

OTHRPart-time

About the role

Our support workers play a key role from when people are first referred to us. Initially ensuring that people can engage with our support to meet immediate needs, such as food and stable housing, then creating opportunities to build self-confidence, a positive social network, healthy coping strategies, and a meaningful use of their time day-to-day.

Locations

Gateshead: We have worked in Gateshead for over 5 years with an established community hub and 25+ supported houses. This includes a specialist team working with young unaccompanied asylum-seekers and those with leave to remain (aged 16-25), where we have opportunities to expand our provision and there is a particular regional need.

Tees Valley (Across Darlington and Middlesborough): We began working in Darlington in 2025 with a woodwork shop, craft groups and supported housing. This now includes a specialist team working with young unaccompanied asylum-seekers and those with leave to remain (aged 16-25) across Darlington & Middlesborough. We have exciting opportunities to grow our both general and specialist housing provision.
