Job Summary

This role is performed in person at 3300 Manor Road, Austin, Texas, 78723. This role performs on-site support services to Permanent Supportive Housing clients with a history of chronic homelessness and a qualifying mental health diagnosis. The Housing Stability Specialist is a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) who works within a multidisciplinary team to help individuals and families achieve housing stability.

About the Role

Housing Stability Specialists deliver therapeutic interventions fostering skills necessary to manage symptoms, obtain/maintain housing, locate and remove barriers to housing, apply for housing and housing programs, and coordinate ongoing rental assistance. Housing Specialists may also facilitate psychosocial rehabilitative skills training groups and/or utilize other evidence-based interventions or therapeutic modalities, as well as provide service coordination to obtain services related to employment, education, medical care, nutritional assistance, financial assistance, transportation, legal assistance, and resources fulfilling any basic need.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver therapeutic interventions fostering skills necessary to manage symptoms, obtain/maintain housing, locate and remove barriers to housing, apply for housing and housing programs, and coordinate ongoing rental assistance.
  • Facilitate psychosocial rehabilitative skills training groups and/or utilize other evidence-based interventions or therapeutic modalities.
  • Provide service coordination to obtain services related to employment, education, medical care, nutritional assistance, financial assistance, transportation, legal assistance, and resources fulfilling any basic need.
  • Embrace trauma-sensitive and informed practices, provide Suicide Safe care, and foster a supportive and welcoming environment.
  • Develop extensive knowledge of community resources, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and cultivate a clinical skill set by forging therapeutic relationships with community members and/or stakeholders.
  • Work both office- and community-based, and may require the use of a personal automobile.
  • Work in partnership with individuals to define and facilitate their desired life outcomes.

Requirements

  • Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) or Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP).

Qualifications

  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with a major specialization in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and handle moderate complexity clinical assignments.
  • Knowledge of trauma-sensitive and informed practices.
  • Experience providing suicide-safe care.
