About the role

The Housing Placement Team Lead at Samaritas plays a crucial role in helping refugees and vulnerable populations secure safe, stable housing. This position involves leading a team of housing professionals and providing direct, strength-based housing placement services to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily direction and support to housing staff, ensuring quality and compliance
  • Maintain and communicate program policies, procedures, and expectations
  • Support staff development through coaching, consultation, and case guidance
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to program improvement efforts
  • Aid in complex or escalated client situations
  • Provide direct, strength-based housing placement services to assigned clients
  • Carefully coordinate referrals, placements, and required documentation in line with program standards
  • Support clients through education, advocacy, and engagement to promote long-term stability
  • Build and maintain relationships with landlords, property managers, and community organizations
  • Identify housing opportunities and expand available resources for clients
  • Represent the program at community meetings, outreach events, and partner engagements
  • Aid in managing donated household goods inventory and tracking systems
  • Support rental assistance processes, including vouchers and documentation
  • Maintain accurate data and complete required reports and performance tracking

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in human or community services
  • Experience working with refugees, asylees, or vulnerable populations
  • 1 to 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related human services field preferred
  • Bilingual in Dari or Pashto strongly preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Reliable personal transportation and proof of insurance
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as needed
