About the role
The Housing Placement Team Lead at Samaritas plays a crucial role in helping refugees and vulnerable populations secure safe, stable housing. This position involves leading a team of housing professionals and providing direct, strength-based housing placement services to clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily direction and support to housing staff, ensuring quality and compliance
- Maintain and communicate program policies, procedures, and expectations
- Support staff development through coaching, consultation, and case guidance
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to program improvement efforts
- Aid in complex or escalated client situations
- Provide direct, strength-based housing placement services to assigned clients
- Carefully coordinate referrals, placements, and required documentation in line with program standards
- Support clients through education, advocacy, and engagement to promote long-term stability
- Build and maintain relationships with landlords, property managers, and community organizations
- Identify housing opportunities and expand available resources for clients
- Represent the program at community meetings, outreach events, and partner engagements
- Aid in managing donated household goods inventory and tracking systems
- Support rental assistance processes, including vouchers and documentation
- Maintain accurate data and complete required reports and performance tracking
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in human or community services
- Experience working with refugees, asylees, or vulnerable populations
- 1 to 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related human services field preferred
- Bilingual in Dari or Pashto strongly preferred
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record
- Reliable personal transportation and proof of insurance
- Flexibility to work extended hours as needed
