About the role

Under general supervision, performs administrative, office, and/or clerical work of moderate difficulty with department-specific responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, sorts, indexes, files, and retrieves forms, correspondence, and documents.
  • Enters data into computer; formats, composes, and types documents and reports from written draft and transcription.
  • May take abbreviated notes of meetings; compiles reports and summaries of work.
  • Checks and completes records, forms, and documents.
  • Develops and maintains office records and files.
  • Receives and responds to correspondence and operates a variety of office machines.
  • Answers routine and extraordinary questions from the public.
  • Prepares and processes confidential and sensitive documents.
  • Responsible for mailing out removal and ineligibility letters.
  • Ensures waiting lists are purged on an annual basis.
  • Mails notices and prepares packages for mass briefings.
  • Receives, processes, and enters Section 8 and Public Housing applicants' information into Lindsey program.
  • Provides backup for Clerk II to collect payments such as rent, promissory notes, and maintenance charges.
  • May assist with processing work orders when needed.
  • Secures front office at the end of the day.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Coursework in general office procedures AND three years of office work experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Successful completion of a background check.

Knowledge of:

  • County policies and procedures.

  • Clerical and office practices and procedures.

  • Effectively dealing with public inquiries.
  • Making arithmetic computations with speed and accuracy.

  • Effectively respond to phone calls, emails, and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Plan, prioritize, manage, and respond to multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Read, write, research, and synthesize data and detailed reports.
  • Use modern office equipment and computers.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Lift up to 5–25 lbs.
  • Perform the essential functions of the job specifications with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 60% sitting, 20% walking, and 20% standing. Working at a computer monitor for extended periods is required. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard-free environment.

Benefits

The YCEBT is a self-funded medical plan administered by BlueCross BlueShield of Arizona (BCBSAZ). The employee is able to select from two medical plan options with six tiers that best suit the employee's needs, dependents, or families.

  • Plan Option 1: Preferred Provider Option A (PPO) or PPO A 1100 deductible.
    • Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing a preventative visit.
  • Plan Option 2: High Deductible Health Plan - Health Savings Account (HDHP-HSA) with a $1700 deductible.
    • Employees who participate in the "Wellness Incentive" will receive a $30 monthly premium reduction by completing a preventative visit.
    • Employer contributes a total of $800.04 to the employee's Health Savings Account.
    • If employees select "Employee only" and participate in the "Wellness Incentive," they can receive up to $360.00 contribution to a Limited Purpose FSA card for medical or dental purposes.

International Medical Solutions (IMS): Available to employees enrolled in YCEBT Medical PPO Plan A and HDHP.

  • Members enrolled in the PPO plan can pay as little as a $5 copay for doctor visits and prescription drug services, with no maximum cap.
  • High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) members pay toward their deductible until it is met. After the deductible is satisfied, the plan will pay 80% of the services covered, and the member will be responsible for the remaining 20% coinsurance.

Pay

This position is advertised from the minimum to the mid-point hourly rate. Salary will be determined based on education and experience at the time of offer.
