Responsibilities
- Connecting renters and landlords with community resources
- Promoting affordable housing, especially in the City of Syracuse
- Counseling around tenant-landlord disputes
- Addressing core housing concerns
- Performing Housing Quality Standards inspections
- Aiding in creating individualized housing action plans
- Identifying eligible participants for rental assistance and supporting applications
- Assisting in Foreclosure Prevention Program
- Connecting participants with other essential supports through referrals
- Providing sustained case management and continued engagement
Requirements
- Support funded programs and services as directed by supervisor(s)
- Work Collaboratively with NEHDA staff and administration to serve the housing needs and refer for additional essential services
- Engage professionally with neighbors, businesses, and others
Qualifications
- Outgoing personality and ability to interact effectively with others required
- Syracuse city resident with strong community connections preferred
- Relevant Education And Experience Preferred
- Strong organization, time-management, and listening skills required
- Collaborative work ethic required
- Multi-lingual, Multicultural Abilities Preferred
- Must have a reliable vehicle for travel within Syracuse and Onondaga County
Skills
- Valid and clean NYS driver's license
- Able to pass criminal and DMV check upon hire
