Housing Choice Project Analyst

About the role

The Housing Choice Project Based Voucher Analyst contributes to fulfilling the IHCDA mission and meeting strategic and annual IHCDA operational and program goals by contributing to the management of the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program funded by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Section 8 HCV program, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Conduct eligibility reviews for housing choice vouchers.
• Coordinate with landlords and tenants to ensure voucher usage and maintenance of tenancy.
• Prepare and submit required reports to HUD and other stakeholders.
• Provide technical assistance to landlords and tenants regarding voucher usage and program requirements.
• Participate in training sessions and workshops related to housing programs.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in urban planning, public policy, social work, or a related field.
• At least two years of relevant experience in housing administration, preferably with Section 8 HCV programs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of housing programs, particularly Section 8 HCV.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with data entry and report writing.
• Understanding of fair housing laws and practices.

Skills

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in using software such as Excel, Access, and Adobe Acrobat.

Pay

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $53,200.00 but may be commensurate with education and work experience. Use our Compensation Calculator to view the total compensation package.

Schedule

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
