Houseperson | Sheraton Oceanfront

About the Role

The Houseperson is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, hallways, furnishings, flooring, and work areas. This includes assisting room attendants with supplies and linens in an oceanfront hotel right on the boardwalk.

Responsibilities

• Strip rooms – remove bed linens, terry, and trash
• Clean hallways, corridors, elevators, stairways, ice rooms, trash areas, and linen closets
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using vacuum cleaners
• Dust fixtures, frames, and equipment
• Polish metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings
• Wash walls, ceilings, and woodwork
• Wash windows, door panels, and sills
• Empty wastebaskets and transport trash to disposal areas
• Stock and supply delivered items
• Replace light bulbs
• Abide by material safety data sheets when using chemicals
• Report for scheduled shifts on time and in uniform
• Comply with all company policies and procedures
• Greet guests in a friendly and warm manner
• Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required
• Able to communicate in English (verbal and written)
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional service
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
