About the Role
Provides excellent guest service in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner; follows LBA standards of aggressively friendly hospitality while adhering to guidelines and procedures. Responsible for the cleanliness of public spaces, usage and organization of supplies, and assisting room attendants to ensure cleanliness standards are met. Assists the maintenance department with minor repairs and work orders.
Character traits of honesty and trustworthiness are essential to this position, as associates have access to guestrooms and property. Potential associates must pass appropriate security clearances per company policy.
Responsibilities
- Keep public areas of the hotel, grounds, and parking lot clean, maintaining brand standards and providing guest service when necessary, including assisting guests with baggage.
- Respond to guest requests, such as delivering supplies (shampoo, towels, roll-away beds, etc.) in a timely and hospitable manner.
- Perform minor troubleshooting and maintenance of hotel equipment (e.g., leaking faucets, running toilets).
- Set up meeting rooms if applicable.
- Adhere to general cleanliness guidelines for public areas of the property.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
- Assist in housekeeping, laundry, or maintenance departments as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience in similar capacities (lodging, housing, hospitals, care facilities) preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to perform major life activities: standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating.
- Must be able to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift and/or carry 30 pounds unassisted.
- Must be able to stand for up to eight hours, bend, stretch, reach, climb, and kneel.
- Must be able to see and hear.
- Must be able to communicate professionally with guests and co-workers.
Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge:
- Proper handling of linens, terry, and other supplies with sanitation and cost controls in mind.
- Handling various safety and security measures; report or correct hazardous conditions immediately.
- All guidelines from the training checklist for areas to be maintained.
- Procedures for emergencies (Person in Charge).
- Skills:
- Assist with guest issues while maintaining a professional and hospitable attitude.
- Maintain guest privacy.
- Follow procedures systematically.
- Basic maintenance repairs (e.g., leaking faucet, running toilet).
- Clean guest rooms to brand standards per the training checklist.
- Abilities:
- Work alone without direct supervision.
- Work as a team member.
- Comply with all standards.
- Multitask while remaining service-centric.
- Communicate professionally with guests and co-workers.
Working Conditions
- Physical presence at the hotel is required; not conducive to telecommuting or remote work.
- Standing and walking for long periods while maintaining a friendly, professional image.
- May be required to work outdoors in heat or cold for extended periods.
- May be required to work any day/shift, including nights and weekends.
