The Houseperson plays a key role in supporting housekeepers, management, front desk, dispatch, and guest service calls while maintaining AAA Four Diamond Standards. Responsibilities
- Provides prompt response to all service calls.
- Maintains constant awareness of safety issues (e.g., broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks, and suspicious persons) and reports incidents to the on-duty supervisor.
- Acts responsibly toward all company property, supplies, and equipment.
- Delivers requested guest items and keeps van/houseman vehicles stocked and orderly.
- Responds to guest, front desk, or housekeeping requests as needed.
- Receives and stores incoming freight accurately and promptly.
- Maintains effective organization, cleanliness, security, and upkeep of all storage closets and facilities.
- Keeps accurate and legible records of all services provided.
- Ensures accurate key control and security for all keys, buildings, and vehicles.
- Maintains ongoing stocking of all linen closets (excluding linens and terries unless assigned).
- Helps maintain a clean and safe working environment in the housekeeping department.
- Follows lost and found procedures with absolute respect for guest property.
- Reports needed repairs immediately (e.g., leaky faucets, loose tiles, broken windows).
- Offers a warm and sincere welcome/farewell to guests, using their names and maintaining eye contact.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all resort amenities and special events.
- Interacts professionally with resort staff and assists other departments as needed.
- Upsells resort services and amenities to guests.
- Maintains a professional demeanor, appearance, and attitude at all times.
- Communicates pertinent information to the housekeeping team.
- Reports to work on time, follows posted schedules, and maintains accurate time records.
- Remains alert, courteous, and helpful to guests and colleagues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior hospitality or houseman experience preferred.
- One year of customer service experience required.
- Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit.
- Must possess a valid Oregon Driver’s License and meet company driving standards.
- Must be able to read and speak English.
- Must accurately follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to resolve problems and conflicts diplomatically.
- Passion for creating an exceptional guest experience.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat).
- Ability to walk, climb into/out of vehicles, and operate a vehicle frequently, with occasional stair climbing.
- Ability to repetitively lift, push, pull, and carry up to 15 lbs., frequently up to 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements, pushing, pulling, simple grasping, squeezing, overhead reaching, and fine manipulation.
