Position Summary

The Houseperson plays a critical role in ensuring guest floor corridors, service areas, and public spaces remain clean, organized, and fully stocked. This position supports the housekeeping team by transporting supplies, removing linen and trash, responding to guest requests, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment throughout the hotel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of guest floor corridors, service areas, stairwells, elevators, vending areas, guest laundry rooms, and housekeeping closets.
  • Remove trash, debris, dirty linen, and used glassware and transport them to designated processing areas.
  • Stock and replenish housekeeping carts, linen closets, and guest supplies.
  • Clean and sanitize vending machines, ice machines, laundry equipment, and other assigned areas.
  • Deliver guest-requested items promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with transportation of guest laundry and dry-cleaning items.
  • Properly handle lost and found items in accordance with hotel procedures.
  • Maintain organized storage and supply areas.
  • Follow all safety, security, and fire prevention procedures.
  • Report unsafe conditions, accidents, maintenance concerns, or damages immediately.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and professional appearance standards.
  • Support fellow team members and contribute to a positive guest experience.

Qualifications

  • Previous hotel housekeeping or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to climb stairs and maneuver housekeeping equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
