About the role
We are seeking a Houseperson to join our team at our new Home2Suites/TRU property in Cleveland, Tennessee. This role focuses on cleaning and maintaining commercial and common areas of the hotel while embodying our "ONE TEAM. ONE VISION." philosophy.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain commercial and common areas including lobby, lobby restrooms, banquet rooms, game room, elevators, hallways, entries, crossovers, stairwells, bar, cart rooms, guest and laundry areas
- Clean designated areas including restrooms, public areas, offices, and banquet/meeting/conference rooms
- Perform tasks including dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, shampooing carpets, washing windows, cleaning/waxing floors, removing and disposing of trash, and emptying ashtrays
- Follow a daily schedule of cleaning all areas
- Greet guests in a friendly manner
- Deliver items to guest rooms when requested
- Report maintenance deficiencies
- Stock and maintain supply rooms as needed
- Perform deep cleaning tasks and special projects as needed
- Assist in cleaning guest rooms as needed
- Focus on promoting and engaging in internal growth programs
- Complete all required training
- Adhere to all standard operating procedures and property-specific brand standards
- Perform any other duties as requested by management
- Provide personalized, friendly service to every guest and associate
Qualifications
- Able to report to scheduled shifts
- Able to communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and in person
- Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Is organized, honest, and works well with others
- Maintain a clean and attractive work area, uniform, and person
- Able to work with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds
- Has the highest degree of integrity and is humble, living by the Golden Rule
- Keep confidential business functions including financial status, customer/guest information, and employee issues
- Responsible for safety and security of guests, fellow employees, and hotel assets
- Have knowledge of fire alarm system and evacuation procedures
Skills & Physical Requirements
- Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, push, and stretch
- Lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds
- Able to work for 8 hours in a restrictive space/environment
- Must have eyesight enabling vision both near and far
- Must be comfortable using a step stool or ladder
- Must be able to use/lift arms for up to 8 hours
- Must be able to work in extreme conditions such as heat, cold, and stress
- Have finger dexterity for operating equipment
- Must speak in a clear, understandable voice, hear at a basic level, and understand English
- Must be able to write
