About the role

We are seeking a Houseperson to join our team at our new Home2Suites/TRU property in Cleveland, Tennessee. This role focuses on cleaning and maintaining commercial and common areas of the hotel while embodying our "ONE TEAM. ONE VISION." philosophy.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain commercial and common areas including lobby, lobby restrooms, banquet rooms, game room, elevators, hallways, entries, crossovers, stairwells, bar, cart rooms, guest and laundry areas
  • Clean designated areas including restrooms, public areas, offices, and banquet/meeting/conference rooms
  • Perform tasks including dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, shampooing carpets, washing windows, cleaning/waxing floors, removing and disposing of trash, and emptying ashtrays
  • Follow a daily schedule of cleaning all areas
  • Greet guests in a friendly manner
  • Deliver items to guest rooms when requested
  • Report maintenance deficiencies
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms as needed
  • Perform deep cleaning tasks and special projects as needed
  • Assist in cleaning guest rooms as needed
  • Focus on promoting and engaging in internal growth programs
  • Complete all required training
  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures and property-specific brand standards
  • Perform any other duties as requested by management
  • Provide personalized, friendly service to every guest and associate

Qualifications

  • Able to report to scheduled shifts
  • Able to communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and in person
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Is organized, honest, and works well with others
  • Maintain a clean and attractive work area, uniform, and person
  • Able to work with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds
  • Has the highest degree of integrity and is humble, living by the Golden Rule
  • Keep confidential business functions including financial status, customer/guest information, and employee issues
  • Responsible for safety and security of guests, fellow employees, and hotel assets
  • Have knowledge of fire alarm system and evacuation procedures

Skills & Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, push, and stretch
  • Lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds
  • Able to work for 8 hours in a restrictive space/environment
  • Must have eyesight enabling vision both near and far
  • Must be comfortable using a step stool or ladder
  • Must be able to use/lift arms for up to 8 hours
  • Must be able to work in extreme conditions such as heat, cold, and stress
  • Have finger dexterity for operating equipment
  • Must speak in a clear, understandable voice, hear at a basic level, and understand English
  • Must be able to write
