PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND POSITION PURPOSE
A Houseperson is responsible for the cleanliness of common areas in front and back of house, as well as the restocking and cleaning of restrooms both in the front and back of house. They also respond to radio calls from the front office and housekeeping team to deliver amenities to rooms (in-room amenities, fresh linens, extra pillows, blankets, hangers, robes, slippers, etc.).
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs cleaning duties in all public areas and back of house areas
- Uses houseman carts when cleaning restrooms as well as maintaining inventory of necessary supplies
- Emptying garbage, removing dirty linens and towels upon request
- Always carries a radio and responds to any amenity delivery requests
- Reports necessary maintenance issues to Front Office so a work order is made
- Cleans the Spa every evening after closure
- Assists with housekeeping as needed for Daily Housekeeping Service for in-house guests
- Fulfills departmental policies and procedures
- Fulfills all safety and sanitation policies
- Assists other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to guests
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, And Ability Requirements
- Operating Housekeeping equipment such as vacuums, mops, maid cart, etc.
- Ability and willingness to adhere to all Averill Hospitality policies and ensure departmental personnel compliance
- Maintains a positive influence in the community and positive relations with area vendors

SCHEDULE AND BENEFITS
- Standing, bending, stooping, and lifting weights up to and including 20 lbs. may be required
- The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four hours a day
- In addition, this is a hospitality business, and a hospitable service atmosphere must be always projected
