About the Role
Provides excellent guest service in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner while adhering to guidelines and procedures. Responsible for the cleanliness of public spaces, supply organization, and assisting room attendants to meet cleanliness standards. Supports the maintenance department with minor repairs and work orders.
Character traits of honesty and trustworthiness are essential, as associates have access to guestrooms and property. Potential associates must pass appropriate security clearances.
Responsibilities
- Keep public areas of the hotel, grounds, and parking lot clean, maintaining brand standards and providing guest service when necessary, including assisting guests with baggage.
- Respond to guest requests (e.g., delivering supplies like shampoo, towels, or roll-away beds) in a timely and hospitable manner.
- Perform minor troubleshooting and maintenance of hotel equipment (e.g., fixing leaking faucets or running toilets).
- Set up meeting rooms if applicable.
- Adhere to cleanliness guidelines for public areas of the property.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
- Assist with guest issues while maintaining professionalism, hospitality, and guest privacy.
- Follow company procedures systematically.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting in housekeeping, laundry, or maintenance departments when capable.
Requirements
- Knowledge of proper handling of linens, terry, and supplies with attention to sanitation and cost controls.
- Understanding of safety and security measures; report or correct hazardous conditions immediately.
- Familiarity with training checklists for areas to be maintained.
- Ability to clean guest rooms to brand standards as per training checklists.
- Basic maintenance repair skills (e.g., fixing leaks, toilets).
Qualifications
- Experience in similar capacities (e.g., lodging, housing, hospitals, care facilities) preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills
- Ability to work alone without direct supervision or as part of a team.
- Strong multitasking abilities while remaining service-centric.
- Professional communication with guests and co-workers.
- Compliance with all company standards.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to perform major life activities: standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating.
- Ability to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift and/or carry 30 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to stand for up to eight hours, bend, stretch, reach, climb, and kneel.
- Must have adequate vision and hearing.
- May require long periods outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat/cold).
Working Conditions
- Physical presence at the hotel is required; remote work is not an option.
- May be required to work any day/shift, including nights and weekends.
