Houseman

About the Role

The Houseman provides critical behind-the-scenes support to the housekeeping department. This is a full-time, seasonal position for the Summer 2026 season (April through the beginning of November).

• Deliver linens and supplies
• Remove trash and soiled items
• Maintain cleanliness in public spaces
• Assist room attendants as needed
• Report maintenance concerns promptly

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in keeping spaces clean and guest-ready, and thrives in a team-oriented environment.

Requirements

• Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or facilities support experience preferred but not required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to complete tasks efficiently with limited supervision
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., push/pull housekeeping carts, and stay active throughout the shift
• Willingness to assist housekeepers, communicate effectively, and adapt to day-to-day needs
• Positive attitude, respect for guests and colleagues, and strong attention to detail
• Ability to follow verbal and written directions clearly
• Must be able to live and work on Mackinac Island during the season
