About the role

The Center on Aging and Health is looking for a dedicated individual to join our Environmental Services team as a Housekeeping/Laundry professional in Erwin. This full-time, on-site position offers an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates eager to contribute to maintaining a clean and safe environment within our hospital and healthcare facility. You will play a vital part in ensuring the facility remains welcoming and hygienic for both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of assigned areas, including patient rooms, restrooms, and common spaces
• Handle and wash laundry items, ensuring proper sorting, washing, drying, and folding
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and supplies used in cleaning and laundry operations
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor
• Follow infection control policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment
• Assist in maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and laundry materials
• Adhere to all departmental policies and procedures
• Collaborate with team members to ensure high standards of cleanliness are met

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Entry-level experience in housekeeping or laundry services is a plus
• Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning and laundry tasks
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
