This is a part-time, non-exempt, hourly position designated as a “responsible employee” and may be required to work during emergency closings. The position is limited to 1,500 hours in a 365-day period and does not entitle the incumbent to Commonwealth of Virginia benefits.
About the Role
This position ensures the cleanliness of assigned campus areas by performing various housekeeping tasks within Facilities Management.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and deep-cleaning tasks using appropriate cleaning methods and supplies
- Operate housekeeping equipment, including buffers and scrubbing machines
- Follow oral and written instructions to maintain assigned areas
- Maintain positive relations with faculty, staff, and students
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education/experience
- Experience with cleaning methods and cleaning supplies
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work second-shift hours: 4:00 PM–10:00 PM, Monday–Thursday and 7:00 AM–1:00 PM on Saturday
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working at a university
- Experience using a buffer or scrubbing machine

- Knowledge of cleaning methods and supplies

- Ability to follow instructions

Pay
$15.53 to $19.41 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.
Schedule
- Second shift: 4:00 PM–10:00 PM, Monday–Thursday
- 7:00 AM–1:00 PM on Saturday
