Housekeeping Worker

About the role

This position addresses Custodial Operations needs by ensuring a clean, sanitary, and safe environment across SECL facilities. Duties include floor maintenance, dusting, gathering and removal of trash, snow and ice removal from entranceways and sidewalks, raking leaves, and gathering trash from areas near buildings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and replenish supplies in assigned areas
• Report any facility repairs or needs to management
• Operate powered and manual cleaning equipment
• Mix chemicals in proper proportions according to established guidelines
• Be responsible for the care and handling of Custodial Operations supplies, equipment, and assigned keys
• Occasionally support Event Operations Staff in the preparation of events scheduled in reservable spaces in SECL facilities

Requirements

• Excellent customer service and communication skills for interaction with employees, students, and visitors at a large university campus facility
• Knowledge of commercial/industrial cleaning methods
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
• Safely mix chemicals with proper proportions from established guidelines
• Operate both manual and electrically powered cleaning equipment

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning of institutional or commercial areas is preferred

Saturday - Wednesday 3:00 PM-11:30 PM and weekends as needed
