Job Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the housekeeping department to ensure a clean, orderly, and attractive environment in all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. This role involves managing housekeeping staff, monitoring quality standards, handling inventory, and ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of housekeeping staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness and service.
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure standards are met.
- Assign duties and tasks to housekeeping staff and maintain work schedules.
- Train new employees on cleaning procedures, safety practices, and company policies.
- Ensure that housekeeping supplies and equipment are properly maintained and stocked.
- Address and resolve guest complaints or concerns related to housekeeping services.
- Maintain records related to room occupancy, inspections, and inventory.
- Coordinate with the front office and other departments to ensure timely room readiness.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Additional certification in hospitality or housekeeping is a plus.
- Proven experience in housekeeping, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to train and motivate staff.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, and safe handling practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
