Housekeeping Supervisor

About the Role
The cleanliness of a hotel is one of the main reasons guests return and recommend our property. Housekeeping Supervisors play a critical role in maintaining these standards. This position involves inspecting guest rooms and public spaces, training and onboarding new employees, and motivating the team to achieve desired results.
Responsibilities
- Engage with guests to ensure their stay is going well
- Work as a team to accomplish the goal of resort/hotel cleanliness
- Coordinate the day’s workflow and distribute duties
- Inspect guest rooms following the highest quality standards
- Hold department employees accountable for quality standards
- Supervise and train staff to maintain cleanliness standards
- Assist with inventory of linen and supplies
- Complete performance evaluations
- Use judgment to distribute work and assign rooms/duties to staff
- Coordinate activities with Front Desk Supervisor and staff
- Report maintenance needs
- Ensure employees use/handle cleaning chemicals safely
- Find coverage for callouts or increased house counts
- Perform other related duties as requested by Management
Requirements
- 6 months of experience in a similar Housekeeping position (desirable)
- Engaging and caring personality
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to work on feet for extended periods
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to read room numbers, dates, and basic instructions
- Ability to move, traverse, and position self to reach corners, high places, and tight spaces
- Ability to operate equipment including spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, scrub pads, and dusters
- Ability to lift, carry, and position loads of at least 25 lbs
- Ability to navigate carts weighing up to 100 lbs in tight spaces
Pay
$18.50 – $20.50 per hour
