Housekeeping Supervisor

About the role

This position involves supervising Housekeeping staff to ensure housekeeping quality standards are met and goals for the housekeeping department are achieved. The role also includes building and supervising teams effectively, training and coaching housekeeping staff, and conducting new team member training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Housekeeping staff to meet quality standards and departmental goals.
• Build and supervise teams effectively.
• Train and coach housekeeping staff in specific cleaning and housekeeping job tasks and daily schedules.
• Conduct new team member training.
• Tour assigned areas to ensure housekeeping standards are met and check productivity.
• Coordinate cleaning and maintenance schedules according to guest needs, working with front desk and maintenance personnel.

Requirements

• Prior supervisory experience desired.
• One to two years increasingly responsible housekeeping experience in hotel environment required.
• Ability to lead others in the department by mentoring and providing training that results in staff meeting/exceeding guest expectations and providing high levels of guest satisfaction.
• Able to monitor labor as required by anticipating business activity while ensuring positions are staffed when and as needed and labor cost objectives are met.
• Able to stand/walk for long periods of time.
• Able to lift/move/pull moderate amounts of weight.
• Able to serve guest needs through verbal face-to-face interactions.
• Able to work on AM, PM, weekend, and holiday shifts as required by operational needs.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants should have experience within a Hotel/Resort environment.
