About the Role
The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the environmental operation, ensuring a clean and efficient process for the assigned account. This role acts as a direct liaison between the client and staff.
Responsibilities
- Ensure client requests are assigned to personnel and completed in a timely manner daily.
- Supervise work activities of cleaning personnel to maintain a clean environment.
- Assign workers their duties and inspect work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
- Handle various cleaning solvents, chemicals, and comply with regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and State Health Department.
- Plan work schedules for major tasks.
- Inventory stock to ensure adequate supplies; issue supplies and equipment to workers.
- Investigate complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and take corrective action.
- Conduct in-service training of assigned employees to explain company policies, housekeeping work procedures, and demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.
- Attend training seminars to improve housekeeping techniques and supervisory skills.
- Record data concerning work assignments, personnel actions, and timecards; prepare periodic reports.
- Attend periodic staff meetings with other department heads to discuss company policies, patrons' complaints, and make recommendations to improve service and efficiency.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of previous supervisory experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, or Creole.
- Valid Florida Driver’s license.
Skills & Abilities
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
- Knowledge of telephone protocol and professional verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to use a smartphone and send email communications.
- Ability to develop field procedures and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.
Physical Demands
- Requires good physical and mental health.
- Must be able to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull, and work a flexible schedule.
- Must be able to move continuously during work hours.
- Must be able to lift and/or carry 30 to 45 pounds.
Supervision
General supervision is received from an account manager, with tasks performed under little direct supervision, allowing for independent judgment. Supervises housekeepers and floor technicians.
