Housekeeping Supervisor

About the role

The Housekeeping Supervisor is primarily responsible for ensuring standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and tidiness are maintained throughout the hotel. This leader manages the housekeeping and laundry departments efficiently and controls costs by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the housekeeping and laundry departments
• Ensure all cleaning staff adhere to established cleaning schedules and procedures
• Manage inventory levels and ensure supplies are replenished as needed
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness standards across all guest rooms and public areas
• Train and mentor housekeeping staff to improve performance and efficiency
• Collaborate with other departments to address any issues that may arise
• Control costs by managing resources and optimizing cleaning processes

Requirements

• At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a hospitality setting
• Strong knowledge of cleaning products and techniques
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if required to travel)
