About the role
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. This role plays a critical part in supporting resident well-being, infection prevention, and overall facility cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain public and common areas, including lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors
- Ensure resident rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized regularly
- Wipe down handrails to keep them free of dust and debris
- Remove dirt, dust, and food from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers
- Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed
- Sweep and mop floors throughout the facility
- Follow safety protocols, including the use of caution signage and proper chemical storage
- Operate cleaning equipment and use supplies according to manufacturer instructions
- Keep housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitary
- Report resident safety concerns immediately to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing
- Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishment
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude
- Manage time effectively and complete tasks efficiently
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet facility standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting is a plus
- Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependable, organized, and team-oriented
Pay
$14–$15/hour
Schedule
- Part-time, 7 shifts per pay period
- Shift hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Schedule includes working two weekends and having one weekend off
