Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize public areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and entrance areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors in public areas.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste according to resort policies.
- Clean and restock restrooms, ensuring all supplies are replenished and facilities are spotless.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards.
- May have to perform minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and unclogging drains.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.
- Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Respond to guest requests and inquiries promptly and courteously.
- Provide assistance and information to guests as needed.
- Monitor and report inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Replenish cleaning supplies and restock janitorial closets as necessary.
- Aid with inventory counts and ordering supplies.
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with instructions.
- Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials.
- Assist with special cleaning projects and deep cleaning tasks as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper.
- Support and train new janitorial staff as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work is preferred but not required. Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness. Good organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and customer service skills. Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
- Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Personal Attributes: Professional appearance and demeanor. Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Positive attitude and a willingness to assist with various tasks as needed. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Working Conditions
Work is primarily conducted in public areas, restrooms, and back-of-house areas within the resort. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings. Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
