Responsibilities
- Receive room assignments, priority room requests, keys, and supplies from housekeeping management.
- Review room assignments, retrieve and stock caddie/cart to ensure all supplies, linen, and amenities are available to clean guest rooms properly.
- Review the list for any special requests.
- Turn in keys, properly store and secure caddie/cart and unused supplies at the end of shift.
- Clean and self-inspect guest rooms as assigned and in accordance with hotel standards.
- Stock guest rooms with appropriate supplies in accordance with policies, procedures, and brand standards.
- Change linens and towels, make beds, scrub bathrooms, vacuum, mop, dust, wash windows, mirrors, and walls, remove trash, and place amenities.
- Perform quality checks on television, telephone, heating/air conditioning, and lights.
- Use cleaning equipment and supplies appropriately and properly.
- Promptly report all emergencies, injuries, missing articles, damage, mechanical problems, and safety hazards to housekeeping management.
- Turn in all articles left in guest rooms after checkout to housekeeping management for entry into Lost and Found.
- Perform duties of Lobby Attendant or Laundry Attendant as assigned.
- Arrive on time and work scheduled shifts in proper uniform.
- Report any incidents of guest dissatisfaction or unusual matters of significance to the manager/supervisor so corrective action may be taken.
- Comply with policies and procedures, practice safe work habits, and follow sanitary, safety, security, and emergency procedures.
- Check with the manager/supervisor before leaving work at the end of your shift.
- Provide genuine hospitality and recognition in the work area.
- Promote hotel services and products.
- Anticipate guest needs, take ownership of guest concerns and requests, and act decisively to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Offer a special service touch when opportunities arise.
- Ensure compliance with proper cleaning techniques, procedures, brand standards, and regulations.
- Maintain consistent professional and positive attitude when communicating with guests and associates.
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent experience.
- Guest service, basic accounting, and familiarity with hospitality industry practices are preferred.
Skills
- Knowledge of housekeeping principles and practices along with proper use of cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Ability to follow an appropriate course of action based on policies and procedures.
- Ability to operate a computer, phone, and other office equipment.
- Attention to detail with good organizational and efficient time management skills.
- Display consistent professional leadership with effective listening and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while handling competing and changing priorities.
- Ability to satisfy the legal requirements for employment within the jurisdiction.
Working Conditions & Physical Effort
Physical work is a primary part of the job. Work is normally performed in an interior hotel environment. While performing job duties, the associate speaks, listens, completes documents, processes requests, and operates office equipment such as a telephone, calculator, computer, copier, and fax.
- Extended periods of standing and/or walking, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Close vision with or without corrective lenses.
- May be required to operate a motor vehicle.
