Housekeeping Houseperson

Salary Rate: $18.50/hr

Responsibilities

• Perform general clean-up tasks, maintain guest rooms, and all resort public areas.
• Collect and distribute linens and fulfill Room Attendant and Guest requests for additional supplies (cleaning supplies, equipment, terry, linens, etc.).
• Stock all carts, caddies, chemicals, and linen carts.
• Use resort-provided systems and equipment, including Alice, radios, and other communication devices.
• Ensure security of assigned keys and provided equipment.
• Sign in and out of all devices and report/log maintenance issues or requests in Alice.
• Follow lost and found protocol for all items throughout the property.
• Bring down dirty linen and stock clean linen in proper locations, tracking daily inventories.
• Maintain cleanliness of the loading dock area, outside walkways, and other assigned areas.
• Vacuum hallways, remove webs from light fixtures, clean stairs, stair rails, and elevators.
• Spot clean carpets and collect all stained linen from closets, placing them into designated bins.
• Collect and dispose of trash around the property.
• Distribute clean linen left in the loading dock (AM shift) and stock housekeeping carts.
• Complete all housekeeping requests in a reasonable time using correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces, following OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
• Deliver/pick up rollaway beds or cribs to/from guest rooms.
• Maintain storage closets clean and stocked with bottled water, toilet paper, and tissue.
• Fulfill housekeeper requests and be knowledgeable of hotel fire and emergency procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or a minimum of six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous hospitality experience preferred.
• Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write in basic English.
• Must be available to work varied shifts and flexible schedules.

Physical Requirements

• Endure various physical movements throughout work areas, such as reaching, extending arms overhead, bending, and stooping.
• Ability to grasp, bend, stoop, push or pull heavy loads, and lift and/or carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to push or pull a vacuum and wheeled cart weighing up to 100 lbs.
