Responsibilities
- Clean all assigned public guest room areas of the hotel to maintain high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
- Promote good public relations and consistently maintain a friendly, positive attitude to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Report to work as scheduled, in proper uniform, adhering to company personal appearance standards.
- Follow and adhere to all Housekeeping Department policies and procedures.
- Use proper radio etiquette when communicating.
- Respond to, follow, and close HotSOS and other requests using Rexx/radio as assigned.
- Assist room attendants by emptying trash and soiled linen from housekeeping carts.
- Maintain cleanliness in public restrooms, hotel lobby levels, ashtrays, elevators, ice machine areas, stairwells, building entrances, and hallways.
- Handle guests with excellent guest relations skills.
- Clean back-of-the-house windows as needed and vacuum guest hallways daily.
- Use proper chemicals for cleaning as described by department procedures.
- Attend all scheduled departmental meetings.
- Perform duties in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain linen closets—clean, stock, and organize them.
- Bring trash to the compactor at the end of the day.
- Wash guest room glassware and deliver it to linen closets; bring dirty glassware to housekeeping at the end of the shift.
- Notify supervisors promptly of any problems or unusual matters of significance.
- Be polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management, and fellow team members.
- Attend all appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions.
- Maintain cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area.
- Execute emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards.
- Comply with safety regulations, hotel policies, and recycling practices.
- Remain current with hotel information and changes.
Requirements
- Previous experience is an asset.
- Able to work as part of a dynamic, quality-driven team.
- Basic English language skills.
- Requires extensive standing, walking, lifting, and bending.
- Able to push, stand, stoop, bend, and lift items weighing up to 150 pounds repetitively during the entire shift.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Customer-service oriented with excellent hospitality skills.
Physical Demands
- On feet over 2/3 of the time.
- Walking over 2/3 of the time.
- Using hands to handle, feel, or point over 2/3 of the time.
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling 1/3 of the time.
- Using listening and communication skills 2/3 of the time.
- Able to push, pull, and carry up to 150 lbs.
- Special vision requirements include:
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
- Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more).
- Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area up and down or left and right while eyes are fixed on a point).
- Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships).
