About the role
We are seeking an Every Other Weekend Housekeeping Assistant (Environmental Services) at GSS MN New Hope Ambassador, a five-star 77-bed facility specializing in Long Term and Post-Acute care. This part-time position focuses on maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for patients, residents, visitors, and staff by following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors using brooms, mops, or powered equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness in patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas to meet health standards.
- Demonstrate knowledge of housekeeping processes, tools, and techniques in a healthcare environment.
- Wear proper protective equipment and follow appropriate guidelines.
- Keep storage areas, equipment, and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
- Use pagers and other technology responsibly as required.
- Assist in laundry areas as needed.
- Perform physical activities including climbing, lifting (up to 40-50 lbs), balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials.
- Push or pull variable weight limits on flat surfaces or ramps.
- Remain on feet for the majority of the shift.
Schedule
- Part-time, every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday).
- Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
- Holiday rotation required.
- Weekday orientation and training required.
- Additional $1.25/hour weekend shift differential.
- Weekly hours: 7.50.
Pay
Wage range: $16.50 – $17.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
- Ability to use a computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
- Knowledge of cleaning materials, equipment, methods, and chemicals is helpful.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
