About the Role
This position is located in Maryland Heights, MO. The Housekeeper Aide provides cleaning services to ensure a safe, sanitary, comfortable, and homelike environment for residents, staff, and the public. Services are maintained in accordance with facility policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations, to enhance the quality of life for residents.

Responsibilities
- Cleans (dust, dry mop, wet mop, sanitize, scrub) assigned resident rooms, bathrooms, and common areas daily according to facility procedures.
- Respects resident privacy and preferences regarding room arrangement and personal items; knocks before entering rooms.
- Cleans walls, ceilings, windows, mirrors, and waxed floors according to department procedures and schedules.
- Secures housekeeping supplies out of residents' reach at all times.
- Disposes of trash and waste, including biohazardous materials, in accordance with facility policies.
- Posts signs indicating safety hazards during housekeeping activities that pose risks.
- Uses personal protective equipment (PPE) when exposed to hazardous materials or as required by policies.
- Complies with safety instructions for chemical use; refers to labels and Material Safety Data Sheets.
- Monitors and reports evidence of rodents or pests to supervisor.
- Communicates with the Maintenance Director in preparation for state inspections.
- Attends survey training and interacts with state surveyors only as instructed.
- Reports injuries to self or others immediately.
- Attends in-service education programs and applies knowledge to job tasks.
- Monitors workplace for safety and fire hazards; corrects or reports issues promptly.
- Participates in fire and disaster drills; carries out assigned duties during emergencies to ensure resident safety.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Requirements
- Experience working in a healthcare environment in Environmental Services preferred.
- Friendly attitude and excellent communication skills.
- Adequate written and oral communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff.
