Housekeeping/Custodian

About the Role

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all agency facilities. The Custodian also assists with Children's Home special events as needed.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Saturday–Sunday off.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all agency buildings
• Assist with setup and cleanup for agency special events
• Operate job-specific machinery (vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, IMOP, kitchen equipment, etc.)
• Handle agency-approved cleaning and sanitizing chemicals safely
• Perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Travel between campus locations and operate an agency vehicle in accordance with NYS motor vehicle law

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid NYS driver license in good standing as determined by the agency
• Previous experience in housekeeping or custodial work
• Pass pre-employment physical, PPD, and drug screen; annual physical and PPD thereafter

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in a congregate-care setting
• Relevant certifications or licensure
