Housekeeping Coordinator
About the role
The Housekeeping Coordinator is responsible to provide administrative support for the Housekeeping department; including creating and designating work assignments, computer input, filing, tracing, answering telephones, printing reports, and maintaining departmental records/logs. All work performed is in accordance to standards and procedures of the housekeeping departmental as set forth by Forbes, AAA, Preferred Hotels and Chatham Bars Inn.
Responsibilities
- Creating work assignments for Engineering, Room, House and Lobby Attendants through the KnowCross System
- Dispatching guest requested items
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards including the inspection of guest rooms
- Administer equipment maintenance programs such as vehicle, vacuum, cell phone, crib and rollaway beds to ensure items are well maintained
- Answer guest calls, anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and ensure follow up
- Maintain positive guest relations at all times
- Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction
- Maintain knowledge of all guest room layouts, bed types, decor, appointments, amenities, locations, numbers/names
- Update a current and updated room status report, communicating waitlisted items with the Front Office and Housekeeping Supervisors
- Monitor and track status of out-of-order rooms; update accordingly
- Administer Lost & Found, Keys and Phones
Qualifications
- Prioritize, Organize and Follow Up
- Work well independently as well as in a team setting
- Understand guest’s service needs
- Work with Minimal Supervision
- Computer Skills including Outlook, Excel, Internet Explorer
- Able to meet deadlines
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Being flexible and motivated
