About the role
The primary responsibility of this role is to perform a variety of environmental services to maintain assigned areas in a clean and orderly condition. Duties include inspecting and ensuring proper cleaning, replenishing supplies, making beds, and maintaining equipment.
Responsibilities
- Inspects and ensures all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair.
- Removes trash and replenishes supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, and soap.
- Makes beds in patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
- Maintains assigned equipment in clean, working condition and reports problems to the supervisor.
- Moves equipment, furniture, and cleans various areas as assigned.
- Fulfills safety and sanitation regulations.
Requirements
Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent. Physical requirements include the ability to perform cleaning tasks, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, and work in various environments.
Qualifications
Completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards is preferred. This training can be completed through CBLs, trainings, In-services, and competency validation.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to be scheduled for work based on operational needs of the hospital.
- Ability to deal tactfully and harmoniously with guests.
- Understanding of assigned areas, necessary supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to read and follow written work assignments.
