Housekeeping- Bel Vista Healthcare PT

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of public and common areas throughout the day, including lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors
• Maintain the cleanliness of resident rooms and bathrooms
• Clean handrails to ensure they are free of debris
• Remove dust, dirt, or food from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and towel dispensers
• Empty trash cans and replace liners
• Sweep and mop floors
• Utilize proper safety measures when cleaning, including caution signage and keeping supplies/chemicals out of residents' reach
• Use supplies and equipment safely by following user manual instructions
• Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas in a safe, sanitary, clean, and orderly manner
• Notify the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing immediately regarding resident safety issues or concerns
• Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishing

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (minimum requirement)
• Experience working in a long-term care facility preferred
• Ability to read and understand procedure manuals and directions
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
• Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Excellent customer service skills and positive attitude
• Strong time-management skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Physical Demands

• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Regularly required to sit, kneel, stand, walk, talk, read, or hear
• Daily use of housekeeping supplies and equipment
• Use of office-related equipment (copier, scanner, fax, telephone, calculator)

Work Environment

The work environment is usually low to moderate in smell and noise level.
