Job Summary

Provides a clean, safe, sanitary, and aesthetically pleasing environment for residents, patients, visitors, and hospital staff. Performs other duties as assigned by department manager, supervisors, and/or charge persons.

Essential Functions

• Completes checklists accurately for shampooing, buffing, bed washing, furniture cleaning and refrigerators.
• Enters all work orders in the computer.
• Operates equipment using proper procedures, with no more than 1 valid complaint as verified by routine inspection.
• Follows proper disposal procedures for hazardous and medical waste, with no more than one valid complaint as verified by routine inspection.
• Operates and cares for equipment safely.
• Reports all broken equipment and damage to hospital property to supervisor or charge person of the time.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Additional Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies
• Experience: 1+ years of Housekeeping/Custodian Experience

Scheduling Requirements

Requires the ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department.

Physical Requirements

• Heavy work - exerting up to 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or up to 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or up to 100 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or up to 100 pounds of force rarely.
• Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.
