Housekeeping Assistant - Woodland - FT - Day Shifts

About the role

Careers With Purpose at Good Samaritan – Woodland, a not-for-profit organization providing over 100 years of housing and services to seniors in a Christian environment, seeks an Environmental Services Technician.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas.
• Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors, use brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
• Provide a clean and sterile environment for patients/residents and facility staff.
• Clean various areas including patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
• Use appropriate protective equipment and follow guidelines.
• Keep storage, equipment, and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
• Assist in laundry areas as needed.
• Use technology as required.
• Perform physical activities including considerable use of arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials.
• Lift and/or move up to 40-50lbs and push/pull up variable weight limits on flat surfaces or up and down ramps.
• Work on their feet for the majority of their shift.
• May be exposed to certain levels of noise with equipment in operation.
• Work hours may vary depending on patient/resident needs, including overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods, and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Pay & Schedule

• Salary Range: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
• $5,000 Sign-on Bonus!
• Shift: 8 Hours - Day Shifts
• Weekly Hours: 32.00
• Job Schedule: Full time

Skills

Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods, and cleaning chemicals is helpful. Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are required. Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
