Careers With Purpose at Good Samaritan – Bethany in Brainerd, MN seeks an Environmental Services Technician to join our team. We provide over 100 years of housing and services to seniors in a Christian environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas.
• Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors, and use brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
• Provide a clean and sterile environment for patients/residents and facility staff.
• May be responsible for cleaning various areas including patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
• Wear proper protective equipment and follow guidelines.
• Keep storage, equipment, and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
• Use pagers and other technology appropriately when needed.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate.
• May have access to use technology applications based on location and availability.
• Physical activities include considerable use of arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 40-50lbs and push/pull up variable weight limits on flat surfaces or up and down ramps.
• This position requires being on their feet for the majority of their shift.
• May be exposed to certain levels of noise with equipment in operation.
• Work hours may vary depending on patient/resident needs, including overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods, and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Skills

• Knowledge of infection control and safety guidelines.
• Ability to apply cleaning techniques in a healthcare environment.
• Physical stamina for standing and moving throughout the day.

Pay

$15.00 - $17.00 per hour, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus!

Schedule

Full time, 8 Hours - Day Shifts, 40.00 weekly hours.
