About the role
Richmond Villages Wood Norton is a luxury retirement village providing personalized care that promotes independence and honors individual choice. The housekeeping assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of the community.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that residents' care home facilities, public areas, and individual properties are maintained to the highest cleaning standards.
- Operate vacuum cleaners, floor polishers, and carpet shampooers.
- Empty bins regularly.
- Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors.
- Clean carpets and upholstery and wash woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.
- Wash, dry, and iron residents' clothing, bedding, and communal laundry, including for on-site care home residents.
- Report all safety hazards to management, ensuring adherence to Health and Safety standards and COSHH regulations.
Requirements
- Experience from a housekeeping or domestic cleaning role.
- A basic understanding of infection control, COSHH, and compliance standards.
- A friendly and approachable demeanor.
- A meticulous attention to detail and pride in work.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate as part of a team.
Qualifications

Pay
£12.90 per hour plus paid breaks and excellent Bupa benefits.
Schedule
1 x 20-hour contract and 1 x 28-hour contract per week on shifts between 7am - 3pm / 9am - 3pm. Hours to cover across 4-5 days, to include alternate weekends. Flexibility to cover early shifts from 07:00 (with notice) and extra hours for holiday and sickness cover when required.
