Position Overview
Under the direction of the Director of Housekeeping, the Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment throughout the facility. This role plays a vital part in resident comfort, safety, and overall quality of care by ensuring rooms and common areas meet established cleanliness standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning duties in assigned areas according to established schedules
- Clean, sanitize, dust, damp-wipe, polish, and spot-clean resident rooms and furnishings using approved cleaning agents and equipment
- Maintain cleanliness of resident room items including beds, bed rails, nightstands, tables, chairs, shelves, light fixtures, TVs, radios, pictures, feeding tables, and door facings
- Follow proper cleaning procedures and infection control protocols at all times
- Ensure a consistently high standard of cleanliness throughout resident rooms and common areas
- Report maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate department
Qualifications
- Housekeeping experience preferred
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
- Patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude toward the elderly and disabled
- Ability to perform essential job functions, including physical and sensory requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and procedures
