Housekeeping and Events Setup (Part Time)

About the role

Entry-level position in the Facilities Management Department that includes facilities cleaning and events setup duties. The successful candidate will possess a passion for their work and believe in the mission of Marymount University.

Status: Part-time (hourly), 29 target weekly hours. Location: Main Campus, Arlington, VA. This role is in-person and will remain open until filled.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning of facilities and trash removal, including weekends.
• Setup and breakdown of tables, chairs, and other equipment for events.
• Communicates with University management, customers, and staff to ensure needs are met and cleaning standards are achieved.
• Performs cleaning service requests and event setup requirements.
• Uses the required supplies and equipment made available to staff to meet quality cleaning standards.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Communicates effectively and respectfully with staff, customers, and the University community.
• Works under the direct supervision of the Custodial Supervisor.
• Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

• Physical condition adequate to perform job functions.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Non-shift hours, weekend, and holiday work may be required.
• High School Diploma preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred.
• Successful completion of background check upon employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry certification.
• Janitor University Certification.
• Experience in using commercial cleaning equipment.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $16.00.
