Housekeeping Part Time

Job Summary

Part-Time | 16 Hours Per Week
Compensation is based on experience. Candidates with no prior experience may start at $17.50 per hour.

Essential Functions

• Cleans and sanitizes assigned patient rooms, public areas, offices, restrooms, waiting areas, and other designated spaces in accordance with departmental standards.
• Collects, removes, and properly disposes of trash and waste materials following established procedures.
• Sanitizes surfaces, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment using approved cleaning products and methods.
• Stocks paper products, cleaning solutions, personal protective equipment, and other supplies in assigned areas as needed.
• Maintains assigned equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
• Utilizes bed management systems and handheld technology to support room turnover activities and patient throughput.
• Operates cleaning carts, trash carts, and other environmental services equipment safely and effectively.
• Demonstrates knowledge of infection prevention practices, isolation precautions, and environmental cleaning procedures.
• Maintains compliance with organizational policies, safety standards, and infection prevention requirements.
• Provides excellent customer service to patients, visitors, physicians, and team members.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Knowledge of environmental services principles, practices, procedures, and equipment.
• Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Basic computer skills, including keyboard and mouse operation.
• Ability to operate computers and standard software applications used within the department.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS), product labels, reports, and departmental documentation.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete assigned tasks independently.
• Knowledge of infection prevention practices, isolation procedures, and environmental cleaning standards.
• Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals, equipment, waste materials, and supplies.
• Ability to organize work effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Environmental services experience within a healthcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of additional languages preferred.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Field of Study N/A

Work Experience

Previous housekeeping, custodial, environmental services, or related experience preferred.
