Housekeeping Aide II

About the role

Provides high quality, timely, professional and efficient cleaning of assigned areas. Communicates and cooperates between/among all internal and external customers in meeting our mission of providing a clean, safe environment and outstanding customer service at all times.

Responsibilities

• Serve patients and families, associates, and other personnel by providing cleaning services.
• Perform duties and conduct interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and hospital.
• Ensure contacts with other healthcare team members are friendly, helpful, and courteous at all times.
• Understand customers’ needs and requests.
• Read daily duty checklist, document times of completion, test chemicals, and record information in required department logs.
• Use office skills, including telephones, pagers, reading, and documenting.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year in Housekeeping at LMH.
• Certificate of Completion in Hospitality Training.
• Outstanding interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to read, document, and record information accurately.
• Recommendation of Supervisor with outstanding qualities in all areas of performance.
• Consistent grades of 90% on all inspections.
• Nomination for Employee of the Month in Housekeeping.

Work Environment

• Frequent exposure to Housekeeping cleaning agents/chemicals and water.
• Required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Potential exposure to infections, contagious diseases, and bloodborne pathogens.
• Subject to interruptions due to varying and unpredictable situations.
• Occasional pressure from multiple calls, inquiries, and emergency situations.

Physical Requirements

• Daily working, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling of linen, carts, and boxes.

Schedule

Full Time, 40 hours per week, Day shift, onsite at UNC Lenoir Health Care.
