Responsibilities

• Serve as a patient ambassador for the hospital, interacting with patients while cleaning and sanitizing assigned areas using appropriate chemicals and following infection control procedures.
• Follow the 10‑Step Cleaning method and duty‑list checklist for each assigned area.
• Perform floor care/maintenance when qualified, including burnishing, top‑scrub & recoat, stripping, applying new finish, and bonneting.
• Maintain linen levels, ensuring positive interactions between linen supply and receiving areas.
• Incorporate scripting/GREAT into daily tasks and adhere to all EPIC policies and departmental standards.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs immediately to management or note them on the daily checklist.
• Change curtains, stock supplies, and maintain equipment, tools, and storage areas in clean, orderly, and good operating condition.
• Manage inventory levels on exchange carts and AM carts, ensuring correct par levels and delivering linen as needed.
• Load inventory onto floor carts/closets for unit distribution, count and replace linen to meet par levels, and round units with iPad or other device to record needs.
• Restock and deliver clean linen to other hospital areas, clinics, and outsourced couriers; unload deliveries, match counts to invoices, and keep the inventory room orderly.
• Present yourself professionally with nurses, nurse managers, clinicians, Central Supply, Materials Manager, and the Environmental Services Department.
• Perform other duties as assigned and contact the direct or acting supervisor for any concerns that arise while providing services on units.

Physical Requirements

• Medium work: exerting up to 50 lb occasionally, up to 20 lb frequently, and up to 10 lb constantly to move objects.
• Frequent activities: hearing, kneeling, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, visual acuity (color, depth, perception), walking, stooping, standing, and visual monitoring/computer use.
• Occasional activities: balancing, climbing, crouching, typing/clerical work, grasping, lifting, talking.
• Constant hazards: fit testing.
• Occasional hazards: exposure to bodily fluids/bloodborne materials, burns, electrical hazards, extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, wet or humid conditions, dust, fumes, gases, mists, odors.

Pay

Minimum $16.98 per hour – Maximum $25.47 per hour
