Housekeeper- PT

About the Role

Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean environment within a long-term care facility, ensuring areas are free of obstacles and odors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all public and common areas throughout the day, including lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.
• Maintain the cleanliness of resident rooms and bathrooms.
• Ensure handrails are clean and free of debris.
• Clean and remove dust, dirt, or food from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and towel dispensers.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Utilize proper safety measures when cleaning, including caution signage and keeping supplies/chemicals out of residents' reach.
• Use supplies and equipment safely by following user manual instructions.
• Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas in a safe, sanitary, clean, and orderly manner.
• Notify the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing immediately regarding resident safety issues or concerns.
• Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishing.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (minimum requirement).
• Experience working in a long-term care facility preferred.
• Ability to read and understand procedure manuals and instructions.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to solve practical problems in situations with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Physical Demands

• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Regularly required to sit, kneel, stand, walk, talk, read, or hear.
• Daily use of housekeeping supplies and equipment, including copier/scanner/fax, telephone, and calculator.

Work Environment

• Low to moderate smell and noise levels.

Pay

$18.00 - $19.50 per hour.
