About the role
Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center (SBVCC) is recruiting for a Part-time Housekeeper/Porter for various shift positions and will include every other weekend. The facility provides the gold standard in quality care for Virginia’s Veterans and features 200 single-occupancy rooms across three nursing units.
Responsibilities
Job duties include ensuring the facility is kept clean by performing tasks such as dusting, mopping, sweeping, damp/wet mopping, polishing, scrubbing, vacuuming, trash removal, and removal of bio-hazard waste. Additionally, the Housekeeper/Porter will keep their assigned areas clean and attractive, promote sanitary conditions to prevent the spread of infection, and ensure all equipment is in working order.

Requirements
The minimum qualification for this role is 1 year of prior housekeeping experience. Additional considerations include experience working in a long-term care facility or hospital, and experience stripping and waxing floors, extracting and bonnet cleaning of carpets.

Qualifications
Successful completion of a Background Criminal History Check, reference and employment verifications, and Pre-Employment Drug Test are required. TB Skin Testing will be completed upon hire. SBVCC is a healthcare organization and must comply with the federal CMS Omnibus COVID-19 Health Care staff Vaccination Regulation; requiring all employees to be vaccinated or receive an exemption as a condition of employment.
Pay
The hiring range for this role is $16.48 - $19.57 per hour, Pay Band: 1.
Schedule
This is a part-time position with various shift positions and will include every other weekend.
