Housekeeper, Per Diem

About the role

Responsible for performing work aimed at preventing the spread of disease by thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing areas, properly disposing of hazardous waste, and efficiently sterilizing equipment and apparatuses. This position does not require patient care.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning duties in alignment with the organization and according to pre-established schedules and infection control guidelines.
• Completes waste stream removal.
• Cleans and services assigned areas according to established procedures.
• Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies in and around Medical Center departments, performing a variety of cleaning duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly, and sanitary condition.
• Operates assigned equipment (floor machines, buffers).
• Participates in a minimum of eight unit/department meetings annually.
• Maintains assigned patient and non-patient areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition at all times.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred (experience cannot substitute for this requirement).
• 0-1 year of related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and how to apply them safely.
• Working knowledge of various cleaning tools like vacuum cleaners and floor buffers.
