Housekeeper- Full-Time Nights

About the role

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, an affiliate of Mass General Brigham, seeks a dedicated Environmental Services (EVS) professional to join our team. This position is responsible for performing a range of cleaning duties in accordance with established protocols.

Responsibilities

• Performs 8-step cleaning procedures, daily cleaning, discharge cleaning, bed making, wall spots, toilet cleaning, high and low dusting, and O.R. terminal cleaning.
• Completes work from previous shifts if needed, reports all incomplete assignments and maintenance issues.
• Cleans up organic body waste, such as blood and body fluids, feces, sputum, etc., as instructed.
• Hangs cubical curtains, shower curtains, and window curtains.
• Disinfects and sanitizes IV poles, pumps, and other patient equipment upon discharge.
• Performs all Environmental Services-related tasks and follows department guidelines.
• Carries out basic and heavier cleaning functions in assigned areas according to established schedules and methods.
• Cleans patient equipment as requested by supervisors, including beds and room furnishings.
• Supports manpower for office and related moves, special conference room setups, and other events as needed.
• Assists in responding to emergency spill situations as observed or requested.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Must be able to understand and converse in English at a level suitable for safe and efficient job performance.
• Requires physical demands, including standing for long periods, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Must possess the ability to learn and demonstrate new procedures related to the healthcare industry.
