About the role
Responsible for cleanliness and infection control in designated areas assigned by Supervisor. Including: In-patient, out-patient areas and common areas in all the department throughout the facility.
Responsibilities
- Dusting, disinfecting, sweeping and mopping, vacuuming, emptying waste baskets and collecting linen.
- Laundry duties: handling dirty and clean linen (collecting, delivering, sorting, washing, drying, folding).
- Keeping areas free of dust and debris buildup.
- General cleaning and disinfecting per policies and procedures of all assigned areas (patient and non‑patient) per shift.
- Completing paperwork for completed tasks and explaining why tasks were not completed, if applicable.
- Cleaning bathrooms, sinks in rooms, dusting, disinfecting and cleaning multiple surfaces, polishing furnishings, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet.
- Monitoring paper supply, soaps/disinfectants, trash bags and other cleaning supplies; refurbishing as needed.
- Responding to unscheduled housekeeping emergencies (e.g., spills).
- Operating equipment such as floor scrubber, carpet shampooer, floor power wash, buffer (special training required).
- Evaluating and monitoring interior of hospital and other facility areas; reporting repair or safety concerns to appropriate department.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Past cleaning experience preferred.
- Infection control knowledge preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently, pay attention to details, multitask, and follow set procedures.
