Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is a 118-bed acute psychiatric hospital and residential treatment center for children and adolescents ages four through eighteen. The 55,000 square foot facility is situated on approximately 10 acres in the southeast corner of Alabama, less than 20 miles from both Florida and Georgia. In addition to the living units, the facility houses the New Day Academy, a state-supported year-round K-12th grade school with vocational opportunities. The hospital employs approximately 195 staff members.
About the Role
The EVS Tech/Housekeeper performs a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks for the hospital. The primary responsibility is to provide the highest quality of housekeeping services to the facility, staff, and patients at all times, ensuring customers’ comfort and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties throughout the facility.
- Ensure the highest quality of housekeeping services to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
- Follow written and oral instructions and complete required documentation.
- Interact and communicate effectively with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
Requirements
- High school graduate or G.E.D. preferred.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions and complete written forms.
- Sufficient strength to perform assigned tasks and maintain excellent general health.
- Minimum of one-year experience in housekeeping, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to interact and communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and families in an effective manner, exhibiting tact, enthusiasm, and patience.
- Ability to read signs, labels, work schedules, and instructions.
