Housekeeper

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and disinfect floors
• Clean water fountains, furniture, and light fixtures
• Run vacuum and shampoo carpets
• Gather garbage and clean windows, walls, and woodwork
• Assist in stocking the linen room
• Complete assigned tasks within the estimated time frame
• Complete environmental service compliance checklist when assigned
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for employees, clients, and visitors in compliance with JCO, state, and local standards
• Perform other related job duties as required

Mandatory overtime may be required for this position.

Requirements

• Successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test
• Subject to drug and alcohol testing for probable causes as per agency and bureau policies
• Must successfully complete a background check
• This is a tobacco-free campus

William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital, located in Weston, West Virginia, is a 200-bed acute psychiatric care facility owned and operated by the West Virginia Department of Health Facilities. The hospital holds accreditation from The Joint Commission and certification by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS). It offers a wide range of services to patients either committed through civil commitment or, in the case of forensic patients, ordered through the judicial system. Through ongoing collaboration with West Virginia University’s Department of Behavioral Medicine & Psychiatry, a variety of medical and clinical professionals partner with the hospital’s staff to work diligently with patients to achieve a smooth transition back to the community after discharge.
